What We Do
Our mission centers on rebuilding and sustaining a championship-caliber wrestling program at Slippery Rock University. Key efforts include:
- Program Reinstatement Support: Assisting with recruiting, scholarships, facility improvements, and operational needs for the program’s return in 2027-28.
- Alumni Engagement & Legacy Preservation: Documenting SRU wrestling history, honoring figures like Coach Powell, and fostering connections through events, content, and the rockwrestling.org platform.
- Fundraising & Resource Development: Raising funds for scholarships, coaching staff, training resources (including potential NIL opportunities), and long-term program stability.
- Community & Youth Outreach: Promoting wrestling in western Pennsylvania and beyond through mentorship, clinics, and support for the next generation of wrestlers.
The Foundation collaborates closely with SRU Athletics, the coaching staff (including the newly named head coach, Jeff Breese), and organizations like the Wrestlers in Business Network to ensure a successful launch and sustained excellence.
